What will my hot tub cost to run?

Choose an AquaSolus model and enter your electricity unit rate. Standby costs start from the model's California Energy Commission (CEC) test figure, adjusted for the outdoor air temperature you enter. Heat-up and usage costs are estimates worked out from the model's heater, pumps and water volume.

  • All figures are indicative. Real running costs vary with your climate, how often and how long you use the hot tub, the water temperature you choose and the condition of the cover.
  • Standby figures start from each model's CEC test, carried out at about 15.6°C air temperature with the water held at 38.9°C and the cover on. We scale them to the air temperature you enter, in line with the gap between water and air temperature. At 15.6°C they match the certificate; at any other temperature they are our estimate, not a tested figure.
  • Usage assumes every jet pump runs at its full rated power for the hours you enter, so it is a maximum. It does not include extra heating to recover heat lost while the cover is off, as there is no tested figure for this.
  • Heat-up uses the energy needed to warm the model's water volume from your fill temperature to your target (1.163 Wh per litre per °C), plus the heat lost to the outdoor air on the way, estimated from the CEC standby figure with the cover on. It uses the heater's rated power, plus the circulation pump (250W) running throughout.
  • Costs use the unit rate you enter. They exclude your supplier's standing charge.
