Start with size: we make 4 person, 5 person, 6 person and 7 person hot tubs. Then choose a range. Series One is plug and play, Series Two adds a second pump, Series Three is our most advanced, and the Vacation Series keeps things simple.

Power matters too. Our plug and play hot tubs plug into a standard socket, while hot tubs with a dedicated supply have stronger jets, and Series Three dedicated supply hot tubs add more power again. If you like to stretch out, see our hot tubs with loungers.

How to choose a hot tub

Four questions narrow the range down quickly. Work through them in order and you will have a shortlist.

  • How many people will use it?

Count who will use the tub most weeks, not the most you might ever have round. Our hot tubs seat 4 to 7 people. A 4 person or 5 person hot tub suits a couple or a small family and fits most patios. 6 person and 7 person hot tubs give everyone room to stretch out. Measure your space first and leave at least 60 cm around the tub for access and the cover.

  • Plug and play or dedicated supply?

If you go for one of our plug and play hot tubs, it plugs into an outdoor socket, so there is no new wiring. It heats the water and runs the jets in turn, which suits occasional use. A hot tub with a dedicated supply needs its own supply fitted by an electrician and runs the heater and jets together, so it is the better choice for daily use or a full house. Series One is plug and play, and Series Two and Series Three need a dedicated supply.

Read Plug and play or dedicated supply: which do you need?
  • Seats or a lounger?

A lounger lets one person lie back with jets along the whole body. It uses space that would otherwise hold extra seats. Choose a hot tub with a lounger if it will mostly be you or the two of you, and an all-seat layout if you often fill it with family or friends.

  • Where will it go?

A filled hot tub with people in it can weigh 1,500 kg or more, so it needs a solid, level base: concrete slabs, framed gravel, a spa pad or reinforced decking. Grass is not suitable. Check the delivery route too. Most hot tubs cannot go through the house, so you need a clear path at least 1 metre wide with no tight turns or steps.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery is arranged by your local AquaSolus stockist. They will agree a delivery date with you and talk you through what is included when you order. Find your nearest stockist.

What warranty do AquaSolus hot tubs have?

Every AquaSolus hot tub comes with our Solace Guarantee: 10 years on the shell structure and up to 2 years on parts. Download the full warranty overview for the details.

How much does a hot tub cost to run?

A well-insulated hot tub typically costs about £1 to £4 a day to run, depending on its size, its insulation and how often you use it. Our running costs guide has tips to keep the bill down.

Do I need an electrician?

Not for a plug and play hot tub, which plugs into an outdoor socket. A hot tub with a dedicated supply needs its own circuit, fitted by a qualified electrician.

Do I need planning permission?

Usually not. If you live in a listed building or a conservation area, check with your local authority first.
